SummerGo 2008
From 16 august 2008 till 21 august 2008 we again organize the SummerGo tournament! This time we are located at a fabulous place on the island Texel, the Netherlands. Our accomodation is De Zilvermeeuw, right near the beach.
Pepijn: "Together with Robert I inspected the spot for a day. We could visualize everything: 'there we can play games', 'the sun will be over there'. Even in the midst of winter a feeling of summer came over us: walking, swimming in the sea, and... playing go on the beach. I must say I find the diversity of the surrounding nature even better than our last SummerGo tournaments, but please: judge for yourself!"
Just as in previous years, we will play go, but there is plenty of time for other games. Anybody young or old, 30 kyu, or 9 dan is welcome.
Location
We play at De Zilvermeeuw on Texel, between 500 hectares of woods, heaths and dunes, at a 5 minutes walk from the beach. The rooms for sleaping have different sizes.
If you prefer you could also book a hotel room and come to the tournament location in the morning. To find a hotel, go to the tourist information of Texel. There is no possibility of camping on-site.
We will arrange the breakfast, lunch and a tasty dinner for you every day. Drinks and snacks will also be provided.

There may still be minor changes to the program.
Go
We play one game per day, usually in the morning. On 16 august we play in the afternoon. Thinking-time is 75 minutes, with a byo-yomi of 15 stones in 5 minutes, or its electronic equivalent of 20 seconds per move.
Workshops
We strive to have a workshop every afternoon. We are looking for more people that would want to give a workshop.

Cost
We have tried to keep cost low, so everyone can participate:
Sleeping accomocation + meals + tournament + workshops: 130 euro, if you pre-register before 15 juli: 120 euro
Tournament + lunch + workshop per day: 10 euro
Dinner: 5 euro
One night stay: 10 euro
Children under 10 are free
Coffee and tea are included in the price. Other drinks are available for a small fee.
Payment
Preferably bank transfer, on (dutch) Rabobank account number 1020.58.261 of the Nederlandse Go Bond in Amstelveen, or else cash on site. Please pay before 15 juli to complete your pre-registration! Email us to find out about international bank transfer.
Things to bring along
In the dorm rooms the use of bed linen and pillow covers is obligatory: bring these. You will also need a sleeping bag. Of course you also need to bring your own towel. You are welcome to also take games and music instruments with you.

Attention! The cooking crew would like to know if you have any diet wishes, for example if you're a vegeterian. Please notify us before the tournament, and we will take in into account.
Do you want join in last-minute? You can! If you call us during the tournament, before 9.00 hours in the morning, we will put you in the tournament round. The round starts at 10.00 hours every day.
